Ranveer Singh to be replaced by a Khan in ‘Padmavati’?

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is all set to bring back another historical story to life, a story of a beautiful queen named Padmavati. It was being said that Bhansali’s most favoured actors Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh will be playing pivotal roles in the movie, but well, it seems that there is change in the star cast. The Filmmaker who had swept away with most of the awards for his film ‘Bajirao Mastani’ is now planning a movie on Queen Padmavati. The story is about Queen Padmavati and her lover Allauddin Khilji, whose obsession for the beauty was such that he could go to any extent to win her; even if means fighting against her husband.

As per sources, “Shah Rukh Khan might replace Ranveer in ‘Padmavati’. Apparently, Ranveer has backed out from the project.The actor, who won almost all the awards last year for SLB’s ‘Bajirao Mastani’, isn’t eager to work in the same thing again. Initially, the ‘Gunday’ actor had been cast to do the role of Allauddin Khilji. But seems like it is not to be so”

Bhansali and Shah Rukh Khan had come together for ‘Devdas’ and the film went on to become an iconic film of 2002. Rumours had abounded that the filmmaker and the Badshah are joining hands for another mega project soon. Apparently, King Khan is quite happy with the script and is ready to give a look test for the same. If these rumours come true then this will be the second film in which the actor-director duo would be working together.
