Ratna Pathak Shah will be seen in the upcoming movie Hum Do Hamare Do that also stars Paresh Rawal, Rajkummar Rao, Kriti Sanon. We had a conversation with Ratna ji and Paresh sir where the two veteran stars opened up about everything with utmost honesty. They spoke about stardom, success and failure, the bond they shared with their parents and how they cope up with their loss even now, their real life love stories and a lot more.
On the bond with his parents, Paresh Rawal said, “I was very fortunate and they were also fortunate to have me as their son. He also said that he is both like his mom and dad.”
Ratna Pathak Shah said that she had a happy childhood unlike other actors. She said, “Most actors have sob stories from their childhood. I don’t have any sob story. I have had such a happy life. Sometimes I worry how would I act as I don’t have any sad stories, so how would I become a great actor. But it turned out to be as whatever actor I am. I have been hugely supported by my childhood as I had a happy one. My parents loved and trusted me equally. They gave me every opportunity possible and most important they stayed my friends.”
She turned emotional and said, “My dad died very young. I wish he had lasted a little longer. He gave me the most wonderful childhood ever. He was such a fun man. Everyone knows my mother much more because of the work she has done but my father was a huge influence on me. His way of looking at the world, his ability to work hard and keep his spirit strong even in the phase of the greatest difficulties, I got a lot out of my dad.”
“And of course, my mother and her great facility with stories and her great facility with people, I have got all of that also, smaller doses but still there,” added Shah.
