Karan Johar’s Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is still loved and cherished by the audience even after 25 years after its release. Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji in the leads, KKHH perfectly portrayed love, heartbreak, and above all, friendship! With this, it is interesting to know that Raveena Tandon was initially approached for Rani Mukerji’s role in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. In a recent interview, Raveena Tandon revealed that Karan Johar still holds her accountable for not doing Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
Raveena Tandon on refusing Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
Recently, Raveena Tandon got into a chat with Hindustan Times. She opened up about the stance of Karan Johar on refusing to do Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Raveena Tandon shared, “Till date, Karan (Johar) holds me accountable for not doing Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (Rani Mukerji’s part). I was like, ‘Yar tu mujhse aur kuchh bhi kara le (Offer me something different).’ In fact, there was a Dharma film Varun Sood and me were supposed to do together, but unfortunately, it didn’t happen.”
During the same conversation, Raveena Tandon also revealed that she had found the script of Sushmita Sen’s Aarya exciting. However, she wanted to deliver a role from her side that the audience had never seen before. This led her to pick up Aranyak, her digital debut.
Now, Raveena Tandon is eagerly waiting for the release of her upcoming series, Karmma Calling. The actress will be seen portraying Indrani Kothari, a strong and powerful woman. Directed by Ruchi Narain, Karmma Calling begins streaming on Disney+Hotstar from January 26.
