Films revolving on all kinds of sports have been made since the era of silent films, such as the 1915 film, “The Champion” starring Charlie Chaplin. When you scroll down the rosters of the past be it in Hollywood, Bollywood or Regional films in this genre can range from a serious to silly and a classic theme. Sports movies tend to keep a warm seat at the ticket windows as well bag awards too.
Hollywood films like “The Karate Kid”, “Rocky” series, “Chariots Of Fire” or “Raging Bull”amongst others have kept the box-office ringing.Bollywood films like “Lagaan”, “Chak De! India”, “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag”, “Mary Kom”, etc. were all super hit films.
Now taking a leaf from the same book is the Bhojpuri super hit action hero Sudip Pandey. He is making his Hindi debut with a film titled as “V” being made under the banner of Entity One. Directed by Sanjay Amar with Sanjeev-Darshan providing the musical score, the film revolves around boxing. Sharing the screen space with Sudip Pandey is real boxing champions, Dharmendra Yadav and Vikas Krishnan. Excitedly speaking about his role, Sudip Pandey says, “Films revolving in sports have always gone well with all kinds of audiences. To play this kind of role is really challenging and testing too. Working with real boxing champions, Dharmendra Yadav and Vikas Krishnan has really augmented my enthusiasm to double folds. “V” means Victor and thus we are putting full steam to make it lively on the silver screen.”
The shooting of “V” will commence from mid of February 2016 in Malaysia and thereon in Singapore, Indonesia and India too.
