The last time director David Dhawan and son Varun Dhawan came together was three years back in the film ‘Main Tera Hero’. And the duo is all set to entertain the audience yet again with ‘Judwaa 2’. The movie is the remake of David’s hit comedy ‘Judwaa’ which starred Salman Khan.
Dhawan Sr has worked with a number of A-listers including Govinda and Salman Khan in his career, but the filmmaker says that he only wants to work with his son, Varun from now on.
“Varun and Rohit often ask me to relax, but my passion for cinema keeps me going. I have always made entertaining films that the common man enjoys. After doing ‘Main Tera Hero’, Varun realised that he enjoys my kind of cinema. He said he wouldn’t do this genre [comedy] with anyone else. I will only work with him now,” David said. David and Varun are currently shooting for Ganpati song sequence of he film. When asked if he feels the pressure of delivering a hit, he says, “If I think of all that, I will never be able to make a film. I am making this movie for myself,” he says, adding, “On the sets, we don’t have a formal equation. We are friends. There are times when he corrects me, in fact.”
He also claims that he is super proud of his son’s career graph. “In such a short span, he has shown his versatility and achieved success. This is because of his dedication towards the craft. I never thought he wanted to become an actor. It was just two years before he did ‘Student Of The Year’ that he told me about his dream.”
Well, those are some great words coming from Papa Dhawan for ‘Beta’ Dhawan.
