Krrish 4: Rekha to star in the much-awaited Hrithik Roshan sequel? Rakesh Roshan makes BIG revelation

Hrithik Roshan-led Krrish 4 is undoubtedly one of he most anticipated films set to release in 2026. The fourth film in the Krrish franchise, the film will see Hrithik return as the titular superhero. Now, the film’s writer, producer and director, Rakesh Roshan has revealed whether veteran actress Rekha will be part of the upcoming film.

For the unversed, Rekha essayed the role of Sonia Mehra – Sanjay Mehra’s wife, Rohit’s mom and Krishna’s grandmother, in the Krrish franchise. She played a pivotal role in the first two installments and appeared via archived footage in Krrish 3.

Rekha in Krrish 4?

On February 16, 2025, the Roshan family celebrated the success of their recently released Netflix documentary, The Roshans. The event – which was nothing less than a star-studded, saw Rakesh Roshan posing for the paparazzi with veteran actress Rekha. Seeing the duo together, a curious photographer asked the filmmaker about Rekha’s involvement in Krrish 4. To this, the director of the superhero franchise replied, “Hai hai, sab hai (Yes, yes, everyone’s there).“ This statement has set social media ablaze.

During a 2023 interview with Pinkvilla, Rakesh Roshan revealed that Krrish 4’s script is ready but is still being refined. He stressed that while Bollywood cannot compete with Hollywood’s superhero budgets, strong storytelling and fresh concepts are key to success. Confident about the film’s potential, he assured fans that the script will captivate audiences from the very first frame.
