This year superstar Salman Khan’s film ‘Race 3‘, despite doing a good business at the box office, was panned by the audiences and critics alike. Remo D’Souza had taken over from filmmaker Abbas-Mustan to direct the third instalment of the hit ‘Race’ franchise. Post the debacle of the film, there were rumours that Salman has put his other films with Remo on hold.
In a recent interview to PTI, Remo D’Souza finally opened up and talked about what went wrong with the film. According to the choreographer-director, the film failed to live up to everyone’s expectations as there were glitches in the film’s story. He also said that the decision of not showing the lead man Salman Khan with grey shades worked against the film.

Remo was quoted saying in the report as, “When Shiraz Ahmed wrote the script it had the grey role. Race franchise is about grey characters but we can’t show Salman in grey character and other things were also happening. Because of all that. It just went little…Entertainment-wise we had great action, songs, 3D, etc. People loved the action but then suddenly trolls started. The action was done by people who are masters in action… Story-wise I agree there were glitches. But I have seen the worst films becoming a hit.”
Remo even said that he has realised the importance of script. In fact, he even admitted that certain changes were made to the script of ‘Race 3’ after the film went on floors and the script was modified after Salman was signed for the film.
Well, we hope that at least now Remo will never underestimate the power of a film’s script. On the work front, Remo is currently busy with his upcoming dance based reality show while Salman is busy with ‘Bigg Boss season 12’ and ‘Bharat’. Both Remo and Salman will be teaming up again for ‘Dancing Dad’.
