Remo D’Souza: I would love to cast Deepika Padukone as a folk dancer

Choreographer turned director, Remo D’Souza is planning to make his next commercial film on the life of a folk dancer and the art of folk dance.

And for the same, he is looking to cast actress Deepika Padukone. Remo thinks that Deepika’s dancing skills are impeccable. “I have the script ready and the project is waiting to go on floors. I would love to cast Deepika in the lead role. She is an amazing dancer and one of my favourites,” revealed Remo.

We wonder if Deepika too will give her nod for the film or not.

Remo and Deepika have earlier worked together in the actress’s first music video and recently, the choreographer also won the first National Award of his career for ‘Deewani Mastani’, from the movie ‘Bajirao Mastani’, featuring an exquisite looking Deepika Padukone as Mastani.

Speaking about their relation, Remo says, “Few people are aware that I was the one who choreographed her first music video before she entered the industry. She was doing ad films and I got her to do a video with Himesh Reshamiya (Aap Ka Surroor). We haven’t worked together since (all the way till ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ and later, ‘Bajirao Mastani’) and her talent has only grown.”
