Crop Tops
Remember Rachel's hot crop tops from 'F.R.I.E.N.D.S'? Of course, we ain't talking about the West but had to mention it as the images (of her toned abs) are still vivid in our minds. Back home, it was Rani Mukerji in 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', Kajol in Kim Kardashian-esque cropped tops from 'DDLJ' and Juhi Chawla in a cropped top and mini skirt from 'Ishq' who kicked off this trend. From get-togethers to casual movie outings, crop tops seem to be the 'in-thing' for Bollywood right now with celebrities. Even Sonam Kapoor rocked the trend in a pretty pink crop top while grooving to Badshah’s rap in the movie 'Khoobsurat'.
High-Waist Bottoms
Tell us about one girl who hasn't tried knotted denim shirt and high-waist pants look from Urmila Matondkar's 'Rangeela' wardrobe. Who could possibly blame the actress for looking so f**king hot while swinging to 'Yayi Re'? Whether it's Sonam's latest airport outing in high waist flared pants or Malaika's recent appearances, B-Town just can't get enough of this style.
Skater Dresses
We're all familiar with those matching shorts popping out from Karisma's mini skater dresses in 'Sona kitna sona hai' from 'Hero No.1'. Be it florals or monochrome outfits, the shape of a skater dress makes it super comfy to wear all day long. What makes it a hit among the tinsel town ladies? It's the fact that it suits all body types and makes you look thin as well. Lately, Katrina Kaif seems to be obsessed with this trend too. Check out her look.
Chokers
Whether it's Zeenat Aman's choker from 'Yaadon Ki Baaraat' or Madhuri's multi-layered pearl choker in 'Hum Aapke Hain Koun', this trend is going to stay in vogue for long. Kylie and Kendall Jenner may have often been spotted wearing choker neckpieces, but Bollywood beauties like Priyanka Chopra and Alia Bhatt have been sporting a choker way better than the Jenners. Agree?
Berry Lips
Sporting berry-hued lips was a haute trend in the 90s. The trend has now returned and how. The evergreen Bollywood diva, Rekha has been loyal to this look for decades now. While the dark lipstick shade accentuated her perfect lips; the world of gooey-eyed men fell for her seductive face. Today, from Sonam Kapoor to Aishwarya Rai, innumerable celebs have started to use deeper shades of berry, from raspberry pink to deep mulberry red.
Argh, forget about bullet bras, loud colour palettes, ugly beehives and bouffants, and hairy chests (Why… why… oh god, why?) from Bollywood’s days of yore. While we sort out the good from the bad and go through a river of flotsam, we realise how fashion is nothing but a boomerang effect. Today, those same old, so-called outdated looks can give you a style spin in a jiffy. If you’ve noticed, some of the most iconic fashion trends of yesteryear’s divas are back in the circuit now. If you have spent your childhood admiring Karisma Kapoor’s sleek tartan short skirts, Salman Khan’s curtains hairstyle from ‘Tere Naam’ or Zeenat Aman’s jumpsuit palazzos, then this post is definitely going to refresh your memory once again. While some of these trends are back with some modification, many never required a revival. Take a look!
