Revealed: First look of Emraan Hashmi in the biopic Azhar

A biopic on the life, achievements and controversies of famous cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin is being made. The Czarina of television Ekta Kapoor is helming the project. Rumours abounded that Bigg Boss 8 winner Gautam Gulati has been signed for the film, but it is not so as Emraan Hashmi will be portraying the famous cricketer onscreen.

The makers of the film have released the first look of the film. The first look of the biopic has Emraan Hashmi playing the Indian cricketer. Actress Prachi Desai, will be playing his wife Naureen in the biopic. The movie will also show the much talked about affair and subsequent marriage of Azharuddin to actress Sangeeta Bijlani.

Though the makers of the film claim that the hunt for the actress who will be playing Sangeeta Bijlani is on. But there is buzz in Bollywood that Sri Lankan beauty, Jacqueline Fernandez will be playing Bijlani’s role in the film.

Azharuddin’s career has had many ups and downs, he was also accused of match-fixing towards the end of his career as a cricketer and the movie will also look at that.
