The presence of Rajinikanth, the ‘Thalaivaa’ is considered to be blessing for all those who have idolised him as an actor. Same goes with director Sudha Kongara Prasad, who has been a renowned name in regional cinema with her latest offering being the bilingual movie ‘Saala Khadoos.’ This movie has given her a good start in Bollywood. Being an ardent fan of the Superstar, she managed to pull off a cameo without ‘Thalaivaa’ being on the sets in her latest release. Could you wonder how this happened?
It was not Rajinikanth, but his images which were painted in the lanes of Chennai making an entry into the film’s frames. The film begins with R. Madhavan being transferred to Chennai which is the hometown of the Superstar. After reaching here, R. Madhavan witnesses this universal appeal of Rajinikanth by seeing his images. Director Sudha has dedicated this sequence to her idol.
She says, “Maddy’s character Adi is very arrogant, bordering on rude and has a lot of attitude. He’s banished to a place which has boxing of very pathetic standards. I wanted to establish that he may be full of attitude, but the territory he’s stepping into is even more steeped in crazy attitude. Rajini mania, the worship of Rajini and politics and politicians is what I have used in the title song to show Adi’s entry into Chennai. Even he’s speechless at what he sees of this new culture. The collage of images he sees, from Rajini fervour, to political mania to the irreverence of the slum kids, is Chennai in a nutshell. And there’s no better icon than Rajini to say welcome to namma Chennai or Tamil Nadu.”
Rajinikanth was last seen giving a special appearance in Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Ra.One’ where he played the character of Chitti from his movie ‘Robot.’
Certainly, the ones who have not seen this movie still has got one more reason to go and watch this. That’s the powerful presence of ‘Thalaivaa’ Rajinikanth.
