Off late, the internet went crazy assuming the probable box office clash between Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ and Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Raees’. Had it been a reality, it would have been the biggest box office conflict ever. However, Shah Rukh Khan and team have acted wisely and shifted the date of the release to January 2017!
Shah Rukh Khan along with producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani together have issued a joint statement in this context.
“It was not an easy decision to move the film. We understand that this film is highly anticipated. However, a movie of such magnitude requires the appropriate showcasing and therefore, we have decided to shift our release date to 26th January 2017,” the statement reads.
Shah Rukh Khan’s avatar in ‘Raees’ is already creating curiosity. Besides, the film also launches Pakistani beauty Mahira Khan in Bollywood. No wonder the makers do not want to compromise with the buzz!
A release on Republic Day; we hope it brings luck to team ‘Raees’!
