Revealed! The reason why Madhuri Dixit Nene is not invited for Subhash Ghai’s party

With the iconic movie ‘Ram Lakhan’ entering the 30th year of its release, filmmaker Subhash Ghai has organised a grand bash to celebrate the same today evening, in his newly launched 70 mm theatre (New Excelsior now called MuktaA2).

The starcast of the film including Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Anupam Kher, Satish Kaushik and Gulshan Grover will be seen gracing the occasion, sans the female leads. Actress Madhur Dixit Nene will not be a part of the celebration as she hasn’t been invited by Subhash.

When asked about the same, he said, “We have not invited Madhuri because with the ladies, the biggest problem is that they come with baggage, their managers, boys — an entourage whereas with heroes —they just pick up their bags and come. The event was planned at a short notice and the invites went out late. I have a great relationship with all my stars from Anil to Sanju and Jackie, ghar mein bhi aate rehte hai and they all agreed to come with just a call.”

He further adds, “Anil, Jackie and the others are all extremely thrilled that a grand premiere will again be held at MuktaA2 today. We will also be screening footage from the grand premieres we had held of ‘Ram Lakhan’, ‘Karz’, ‘Khalnayak’, ‘Karma’ and ‘Saudagar’. In those days, we used to have a grand premiere and then travel with the cast in buses to promote the film across 11 theatres, followed by partying. There used to be respect that every actor, director and producer had for each other. I may plan to show my films like ‘Karma’ and ‘Saudagar’ in noon shows at this theatre as they are still popular.”
