Rhea Chakraborty files FIR against Instagram users who gave her rape and death threats

Ever since Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty has been constantly targeted by online trolls. The actress is being subjected to so much hatred that it’s appalling to see the kind of messages trolls are bombarding her with.

On Thursday, Rhea had exposed some of these trolls via her Instagram posts. She had also clearly stated that enough is enough and she is no longer going to be subjected to this kind of toxicity and harassment. The actress has now filed an FIR against the Instagram users who gave her rape and death threats.

Following Raput’s death, his girlfriend Rhea is being blamed by netizens for his demise. So much so that some users even gave her rape and death threats. On Thursday, Rhea had requested Cyber Cells to take strict action against these nasty users. Now as per the latest reports, on Saturday, the actress filed an FIR against two Instagram users at Santacruz Police Station, Mumbai.

Talking about the FIR filed by Rhea, Santacruz police station’s senior inspector Shriram Koregaonkar told PTI, “We registered the First Information Report (FIR) on Saturday under Indian Penal Code Sections 507 (criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication), 509 (intending to insult modesty of any woman) and relevant provisions of the Information Technology Act. No arrest has been made so far. We are conducting an investigation in the case.”

Earlier lashing at such trolls, Rhea had said, “I was called a gold digger ..I kept quiet. I was called a murderer ….I kept quiet. I was slut shamed ….I kept quiet. But how does my silence give you the right to tell me that you will get me RAPED and MURDERED if I don’t commit suicide @mannu_raaut ?Do you realize the seriousness of what you have said? These are crimes, and by law no one, I repeat NO ONE should be subjected to this kind of toxicity and harassment .I request @cyber_crime_helpline @cybercrimeindia to please take necessary action.”

Rhea has even requested Home Minister Amit Shah to initiate a CBI enquiry into her boyfriend’s death.
