Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer, advocate Satish Maneshinde, recently reacted to the 12,000-page chargesheet filed by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in relation to the drugs case linked to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. He called it a ‘damp squib’. The chargesheet names 33 accused which includes Rhea and her brother Showik Chakraborty.
Maneshinde said in a statement that the 12,000-page chargesheet was expected. He said all of NCB’s efforts have been directed towards roping Rhea into the case. The NCB’s chargesheet has accused Rhea of ‘illicit trafficking and harbouring of offenders’ under section 27A of the NDPS Act.
According to the ANI report, Rhea’s lawyer said, “All efforts of NCB have been directed towards Rhea Chakraborty to somehow rope her in. The entire amount of “Narcotic Substances” “Recovered” against 33 accused are nothing compared to what even a constable in Mumbai Police or Narcotics Cell or the Airport Customs or other agencies recover from one raid or trap.”

He further added, “The entire NCB from top to bottom was engaged in unearthing drug angle in Bollywood… There’s hardly any material against any known faces who were paraded during the investigations, I wonder why? Either the allegations were false or Only God Knows the Truth.”
Maneshinde further said that the HC has found no prima facie material at the stage of bail of alleged financing of the drugs trade. He also claimed that they will have the last laugh.
