After Showik’s arrest, Rhea Chakraborty leaves for NCB questioning; her lawyer says she is ready for arrest

On Friday, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Showik and Sushant Singh Rajput’s house manager, Samuel Miranda. Today, Rhea left for NCB’s office for questioning. The actress’ lawyer Satish Maneshinde has issued a statement saying she is ready for arrest. Read on to know the details.

Earlier confirming about summons sent to Rhea, Mutha Ashok Jain, Deputy DG told ANI, “We will be asking her (actor Rhea Chakraborty) to join the investigation, and maybe to some other people as well.”

She was summoned by NCB after the arrest of her brother Showik, Sushant’s house manager Samuel Miranda and house help Dipesh Sawant. A huge crowd of media persons had gathered outside Rhea’s residence as she left for NCB’s questioning.

A team of NCB had arrived at Rhea’s residence on Sunday morning to serve her summons for joining probe in the drugs case linked to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case.

According to ANI report, as Rhea left for the interrogation, her lawyer Satish Maneshinde issued a statement. “Rhea Chakraborty is ready for arrest as it’s witch-hunt. If loving someone is a crime she’ll face consequences of her love. Being innocent she hasn’t approached any court for an anticipatory bail in all cases foisted by Bihar Police with CBI, ED & NCB,” the statement read.

So going by Rhea’s lawyer’s statement the actress claims to be innocent and has not sought any anticipatory bail so far.

Reportedly, NCB will now be questioning Rhea along with her brother Showik and Sushant’s ex-aides in order to gauge their roles in the alleged drug racket that emerged after ED’s investigation.
