Rhea Chakraborty REACTS to accusations of doing black magic on Sushant Singh Rajput

Sushant Singh Rajput passed away three years ago on June 14, 2020. SSR’ death left everyone heartbroken. Post Sushant’s death, Rhea Chakraborty, who was dating him at that time, was accused of abetting his suicide by SSR’s father. Following this, Rhea was in the jail in connection with a drug case. She was released on bail after 28 days.

During that time, Rhea had faced the wrath of netizens, and was called several names including ‘chudail’. Now, at a recent event, Rhea Chakraborty was asked about being called a ‘chudail’. That’s not all, Rhea Chakraborty also reacted to accusations of doing black magic on Sushant Singh Rajput.

Rhea reacts to being called a ‘witch’ and doing black magic on SSR

In a conversation at India Today Conclave Mumbai 2023, Rhea said, “I kinda like the name chudail. Back in the day, who was a witch? A witch was a woman who did not subscribe to patriarchal society had her own or had her own opinion which was against the popular opinion of men and patriarchal societies back then. Maybe I am that person. Maybe I am a chudail, maybe I know how to do black magic.”

Furthermore, Rhea also opened up about how the society has a patriarchal mindset. The actress said, “It is what it was, and it is what it is in our society. Unfortunately, even today if some man is successful and he gets married and his success ratio drops they will say dekho jab se ye zindagi mein aayi tab se ye iska career kharab ho gaya hai (Look, ever since she ventured into his life, his career has gone haywire). It’s almost like the man had no identity before the woman. Men in India most definitely do not listen to their wives or girlfriends and if they did it wouldve’ been a much better society.”

Adding to that, Rhea said that SSR had his own identity and that he came from a small town and made it big in the industry. “There is no black magic in this world, let me clear that,” she said.

Reportedly, Rhea dated SSR briefly dated between 2019-2020. Following SSR’s death, Rhea landed into multiple controversies. After keeping it low-key for a year, Rhea returned to work this year. The actress is currently hosting the 19^th season of Roadies.
