Dimple Thawani is one of Rhea’s neighbour who had claimed that an eyewitness had told her that Sushant had dropped Rhea on June 13, i.e a day before his tragic death. Now, Rhea has written a letter to CBI requesting them to take action against Dimple for misleading the investigation by making bogus claims.

Bar and Bench shared the copy of Rhea’s letter on their Twitter handle. In her letter, Rhea said, “I was Interrogated for more than 5 days by the CBI in connection with the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. During the investigation, several media channels carried false and bogus stories without any material to substantiate these patently false and fabricated claims in order to achieve their own ends.”

Speaking about her neighbour, Rhea added, “I say that one such person, Mrs. Dimple Thawani , made patently false and bogus allegations against me knowing them to be false, to mislead the investigation in the above case. The allegation was that the late Sushant Singh Rajput had dropped me to my residence in his car on the 13th of June 2020, which is utterly false.”

Requesting CBI to initiate appropriate action against Dimple, the actress further wrote, “I say that the said conduct makes out a prima facie case punishable under Sections 203 and 211 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 and/or an attempt to commit an offence under Sections 203 and 211 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, one of which is punishable with imprisonment for a minimum of 7 years. The said offences are serious and allegations were made on Republic TV Channel without any basis.”

Meanwhile, according to a report in India Today, CBI interrogated Dimple yesterday however she didn’t divulge any details about the eyewitness who had told her about seeing Sushant drop Rhea on June 13. The central agency even warned Dimple and asked her to refrain from saying anything in future which she cannot verify.
