Rhea Kapoor opens up on the controversy surrounding her upcoming movie ‘Veere Di Wedding’

Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam Kapoor’s upcoming film ‘Veere Di Wedding‘ recently got embroiled in a bit of a controversy. And now producer Rhea Kapoor has opened up about the same. The film was a topic of discussion for it’s title bearing similarity to Jimmy Sheirgill’s ‘Veerey Ki Wedding’.

Talking to a daily, Rhea said, “Our film has been called ‘Veere Di Wedding’ from the very beginning. This is the title that my father’s company (Anil Kapoor Film Company Private Limited) has registered with the IFTPC since June 20, 2015. Any suggestion that we are changing our film’s title is simply not true. Sonam’s father Anil Kapoor had written to the IMPPA asking the court to stop the makers from repeating their title. The High Court dismissed Anil’s claims and ruled in favour of Jimmy Sheirgill’s ‘Veerey Ki Wedding’.
