Richa Chadha

Actress Richa Chadha is openly vocal about the causes she believes in. Earlier, she has spoken about entrepreneurship skills of women, gender equality, sports for women in India and more. When it comes to subjects that need a strong heads up from people who matter, we can well expect her to put across a loud and clear opinion.

This time around, as Maharashtra gears up to celebrate the arrival of lord Ganesha in the grandest manner, Richa is celebrating the festivity by lending her support to the initiative of eco-friendly Ganesha.

The actress recently visited Dattadri Kothur’s Tree Ganesha centre. Dattadri, a couple of years back, came up with an unique form of Ganesha idol. Formed with all eco-friendly elements, the idol contains a seed inside it. Once the worship is over, the material will dissolve naturally and the seed, at the same time, will grow into a tree. What a beautiful way to pay respect to the god and mother nature at the same time. isn’t it? (Also Read: Richa Chadha on change of CBFC chief: I hope they change the rules and not just the members)

“I’m happy to be supporting this. This initiative is something I have heard of in the past but this is the first time I have physically been part of something like this. I think it’s high time we need to stop polluting the environment in the name of festivities and be careful as soon it would be too late. It saddens me to see such state of the beaches, roads during Ganesh festivities when burnt crackers, dirty beaches are the outcome of the Visarjan. So I think Tree Ganesha is a perfect solution that helps not only save the environment but also add value to the environment by planting trees,” she said.

On this happy note, happy Ganesh Chaturthi to you too! 🙂
