The leading Khans of Bollywood are always stuffed with endorsement offers pouring in. However, Aamir Khan has a different story right now. The actor, who just a year back was Bollywood’s most expensive celebrity endorser, right now has no endorsement offers in his kitty!
Why? Close ones of the actor state is as a reason that Khan is very choosy about endorsing a certain brand and also that he commits to only one brand at a time.
“Khan and his team are in discussion with some brands and an announcement will happen when something concrete comes out”- a source said.
Very recently, e-commerce brand Snapdeal had dropped Aamir as their brand ambassador. The series of TVcs featuring Aamir and his ‘dil ki deal’ were quite popular, until Aamir’s comment on the growing intolerance in India evoked controversies. It is assumed that the company didn’t want to be promoted by a public figure whose popularity and mass acceptability are being questioned.
The ‘Taare Zameen Par’ actor was also the official face of Indian Tourism but was recently replaced with Amitabh Bachchan & Priyanka Chopra. While we speculated that the reason behind it remained the same, Aamir’s close circle has a different version.
“Aamir never has a renewal clause in his endorsement contracts so there is no question of extension. His contracts are also usually of one year duration”- one of them said.
