RIP Dilip Kumar: Heart broken Saira Banu stands shattered as the mortal remains of the actor were brought home

Dilip Kumar passed away this morning after being ill for a long time. He was 98 and breathed his last at Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai. His official Twitter account announced the tragic news saying, “With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip Saab, few minutes ago. We are from God and to Him we return.” His mortal remains will be buried at a burial ground in Santacruz in the evening today. Just a few minutes back, Saira Banu was seen standing outside the hospital as the mortal remains of Dilip Kumar were being taken for the last tributes at their residence in Mumbai.

Saira Banu was snapped in a shattered state. Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu’s love story has always been an epic one and the pics of the latter will break your heart. Shabana Azmi too arrived at Dilip Kumar’s home to pay her tributes to the late legendary actor. As per reports, Dilip Kumar will be buried with State honours and all the COVID 19 protocols will be followed during the process.

Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu were married for 54 years. Saira Banu was Saab’s side till his last breath. Their love story is a textbook example of love withstanding the test of time. Dilip Kumar was 22 years senior to Saira Banu and the latter said that she was always attracted to Dilip Saab from a young age. Saira Banu and Dilip Kumar tied the knot on October 11, 1966. At the time of marriage, Banu was 22 and Kumar 44 years old. However, their love story today is considered a fairytale in itself.
