Last September, Rishi Kapoor flew off to New York for medical treatment. Bollywood Bubble exclusively broke the news that the veteran actor is in the Big Apple to undergo treatment as he has been diagnosed with cancer. The actor’s family later admitted that the Sr. Kapoor is indeed battling cancer. However, they are yet to disclose exactly what kind of cancer he has been suffering from.
In his first interview in the last nine months, the ‘Mulk’ finally opened up about his fight with cancer and how he is coping now.
Opening up about the exact time when the disease was detected, Rishi told Mumbai Mirror, “When I first came here, everyone was worried for me. The problem was detected when I was shooting in Delhi and was required to dye my hair white. I was told to immediately rush to the Sloan Kettering Hospital.”

“Thankfully, my health started improving, week after week, month after month. I had lost 26 kg as I had no appetite for the first four months. Now, I’ve gained seven-eight kg. I don’t want to look too lean, but I haven’t gone back to my original self either. Thank God for that,” he added further.
The veteran actor also shared how his family especially his wife Neetu Kapoor became his pillar of strength during this testing time. Kapoor will be undergoing a few more check-ups and will be mostly coming back home in a few weeks.
