Just this morning we were grieving Irrfan Khan’s death, and now we have another scare in the middle of the night. Rishi Kapoor has been rushed to the HN Reliance Hospital. Rishi’s elder brother Randhir Kapoor has confirmed the news while speaking to indianexpress.com. He said, “He is hospitalised. Neetu is by his side. He is not well.”
Rishi Kapoor, who had been to the US for over a year for his cancer treatment, had returned to India in last September from New York. He had been doing pretty well and had also been to the hospital visits a couple of time before as well. All of them have been regular check-ups and we are praying our hearts out that this too is nothing but a routine check-up. As per the latest reports, he has been there for almost a week now and is currently being kept in ICU.

The actor was diagnosed with cancer in 2018 and he had gone to the US to undergo a marrow treatment. The treatment kept him away in the US for over 11 months and 11 days. His wife Neetu Kapoor had been by his side throughout standing like a rock. Ranbir Kapoor along with girlfriend Alia Bhatt used to keep making regular visits to Rishi in the US. Not only that many of other B-Town celebs like Priyanka Chopra, Sonali Bendre, Anupam Kher, Aamir Khan, Deepika Padukone, Karan Johar and Malaika Arora, Akshay Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan and others had visited Rishi during his time in the US.
Talking about his treatment, Rishi Kapoor had told Hindustan Times in an interview recently, “I feel very fresh and geared up to do any kind of work. My batteries are all charged and I’m looking forward to facing the camera. I just hope I haven’t forgotten acting. Right now, I don’t know if my work will be welcomed or if people are going to trash me. When I was going through treatment, I had a few blood transfusions. And I told Neetu that I hope with the new blood, I haven’t forgotten acting.”
On the work front, Rishi Kapoor was last seen in ‘The Body’, alongside Emraan Hashmi and Shobita Dhulipala. He will next be seen in the Indian remake of ‘The Intern’ also starring Deepika Padukone.
