A couple of days ago, a portion of the historical RK Studios caught fire. No casualties were spotted, but it devastated the studio, leaving only burnt and unrecognisable pieces behind. The place is a living witness to many a iconic films being shot, and the accident felt like a personal loss to many.
Rishi Kapoor took to Twitter to share two photos of the studio; one clicked in 1950 and another a few days back, after the disaster took place.
“1950.RK Studios stage No:1 being readied for Dusserah inauguration with the film Awara. Dream sequence was to be shot,” he captioned the first picture.
“2017 September 16th. Gutted by a devastating inferno. Scars shall remain but will build a state of the art studio,” was the heart-breaking caption for the second one. (Also Read: A cartoon over fire in RK Studios offends Rishi Kapoor)

Last Saturday, six fire tenders and five water tanks rushed to the spot as news of spreading fire reached them.
“Sad A major fire broke out at RK StudiosWe have lost the iconic Stage 1 Thankfully no casualties nor injuries. All your concerns appreciated. A Studio can be built again but the loss of the irreplaceable memorabilia and costumes of all RK Films,is tragic for all. Fire took it away,” Kapoor tweeted, after the incident.
Ranbir Kapoor was not in the country when the incident took place. He too was captured visiting the studio as soon as he came back. We wish the legacy is restored to its former glory, soon.
