After Ek Villain, Riteish Deshmukh to play antagonist in Ajay Devgn starrer Raid 2

Ajay Devgn is set to reprise his role as IRS Officer Amay Patnaik in the sequel to the 2018 hit film Raid. Titled Raid 2, the crime-drama stars Vaani Kapoor as leading lady alongside Ajay. And now, adding to the excitement of the movie, Riteish Deshmukh is all set to join the cast of Raid 2 and he will play the negative lead.

Known for delivering exceptional performances as a negative lead, Riteish Deshmukh will face off against Ajay Devgn on the silver screen for the first time, following their collaboration in hilarious comedy films. The movie started shooting in Mumbai last week and will be extensively filmed in Mumbai, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan.

The film went on the floor on January 6 in Mumbai. Sharing a glimpse of it, Ajay had written on social media, “New Case, New Beginning! #Raid2 officially kicked off today, and the energy on set was nothing short of electrifying! Shukriya @raviteja_2628, for gracing the mahurat shot”. Director Harish Shankar and actor Ravi Teja flew to Mumbai from Hyderabad to be present at the event. Ravi even gave the muhurat clap for Raid 2. The two are currently working on Mr Bachchan, the official Telugu adaptation of Raid.
