Ritesh Sidhwani was waiting for the right script for 8 years to make ‘Rock On!! 2’

Farhan Akhtar starrer ‘Rock On!!’ recently completed eight years of its release and the now the sequel of the film is all set to hit the screens this year.

In a recent interview, producer Ritesh Sidhwani was quipped as to what made him wait for 8 long years to come with a sequel, to which Ritesh replied, “We were waiting for the right script to take this franchise forward and the best part about this script is that it offers a platform for the next generation to take centre stage.”

The prequel starred Arjun Rampal, Purab Kohli, Luke Kenny and Prachi Desai along with Farhan in the lead and ‘Rock On !! 2’ will have Shraddha Kapoor in addition to the original cast.

Farhan, who made his singing and acting debut with this film, talked about how close the movie was to him. He said, “Rock On!! will always remain one of my most special films since it opened a new chapter in my life, of acting. Thereon, I got a chance to explore even more interesting opportunities and continue learning.” He further said, “Now that we are releasing the sequel, the same excitement is there and we hope this one receives a lot more love from the audiences.”

Directed by the debutant Shujaat Saudagar, ‘Rock On!! 2 ‘will be released on November 11, 2016.
