Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani shattered the box office. The film marks Karan Johar’s comeback to the director’s chair after seven years. It is also the second film to be a team-up between Ranveer and Alia. Apart from the two, the film also boasts a stellar cast of veteran actors, including Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, and Anjali Anand.

There’s no denying the fact that the cast of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani received heaps of praise for their characters. Meanwhile, the story also turned out to be attractive and captivating. Speaking of the cast, Anjali Anand has played the role of Ranveer Singh’s sister in RRKPK. Now, in a recent interview, she has opened up about body standards existing in the entertainment industry.

Anjali Anand speaks about not being stereotyped in her upcoming films

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani marked Anjali’s Bollywood debut. The actress is happy to have spread the message of body positivity through her character in the film. In an interview with the Hindustan Times, she opened up about the roles she wants to play. She said, “Whatever comes next for me, I want to be very careful in what I’m choosing so that I’m not stereotyped. I hope I get to play something more challenging and unbelievably different, and not what filmmakers and audiences already expect from me. I want to play different parts, whatever it takes.”

Speaking about the toxic beauty standards in the film industry, she said, “It’s not just the showbiz industry, even the audiences will not be very happy with a heroine if she looks like me. It is a very hypocritical world that we live in. Everybody wants to see a toned body and fair skin on screen. Sabse zyada seetiyaan item number par hi bajti hain. That is the world we live in and that is the truth nobody wants to accept.”

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani box office

The Karan Johar-directed Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is reaching new heights with each passing day. The box office numbers are proof of the same. In India, the film is inching closer to the 150 crore mark and has managed to earn Rs. 340 crore within a month on the global platform.
