What Jhumka Review: 5 thoughts I had while watching Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh’s song from Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani

Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh starrer Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani has been creating buzz for all the right reasons. Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani trailer released a few days ago and it gave us a glimpse of what to expect from Karan Johar’s directorial project. As many know, KJo is returning to the director’s chair after seven years. RARKPK trailer has confirmed that he is back with a bang.

Post the trailer release, RARKPK makers treated fans with the film’s first song ‘Tum Kya Mile’ and it instantly won hearts. Now, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani makers dropped the second song ‘What Jhumka’ and well, it has already made it to our playlist.

‘What Jhumka’ song highlights

Perfect combination: For me, What Jhumka is a perfect party song. Well, one-minute into the song and it had me grooving along. Arijit Singh, who has given us a number of hit party songs over the years, is back again with What Jhumka song. He has sung the song with Jonita Gandhi. The lyrics have been penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya. The composer Pritam gave a twist to late Madan Mohan’s original track. It’s a perfect combination and there’s no denying that.

Electrifying chemistry: The music video of What Jhumka features Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh. Alia and Ranveer once again prove they’re a blockbuster Jodi. After Tum Kya Mile, it was refreshing to see Alia and Ranveer dancing to the peppy track. The duo’s crackling chemistry shines in the music video. There is a part in the music video where Ranveer Singh can’t take his eyes off Alia and oh boy, it has our heart.

The outfits: While Ranveer is looking dapper in a quirky denim-on-denim look, Alia looks beautiful in a multi-colour saree. The colourful fashion matches the What Jhumka music video.

Alia & Ranveer’s energetic performance

I loved it how Ranveer aka Rocky is trying to woo the gorgeous Alia Bhatt. Furthermore, Alia’s expressions are on point. There were times I couldn’t take my eyes off the actress. Be it playfully hitting Rocky or doing the hook step, Alia has nailed it and how! On the other hand, Ranveer is equally good. Ranveer, who is known to be full-of energy, effortlessly pulls off the dance moves.

Colourful: One of the best parts of the music video is how colourful it is. Karan Johar never disappoints. It has a grand set, dhol, Alia-Ranveer’s energetic dance and masti.

On the other hand, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani also stars Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi. The movie is slated to release on 28^th July.
