Rohit Shetty

Just yesterday, we reported how actress Parineeti Chopra is elated to be a part of ‘Golmaal Again’. Not just because she gets to work with some of the finest actors of the industry, but Parineeti is also glad about the fact that she has signed an edition of Bollywood’s biggest franchise so far.

Like other parts, ‘Golmaal Again’ will as well be the extravaganza, especially in terms of special effects. Rohit Shetty, who has a number of big budget films in his kitty, says he is accustomed to making large scale films. “I have always made big films. In fact, I’ll feel odd if I make smaller ones. I only make those films I feel I can pull off. I have to be comfortable with the project first. If I try to be someone else, it will not work. I’m happy doing what I do. I feel it’s important people are happy while making a film. Otherwise, we can’t entertain people on screen,” he said.  (Also Read: Rohit Shetty’s next with Ranveer a remake of Telugu film ‘Temper’?)

However, there will be slight differences too. You might be looking out for those larger than life sequences where big cars blow! Nothing like that is going to happen this time since the director says he is on a ‘detox’ from blowing cars.

“I’m not blowing up cars this time in. I’m on detox in ‘Golmaal Again’. It’s a little unfair that you do so much hard work to make a 2.5 hour film and all they talk about is how I just blow cars. They make it look like the moment they sat to watch the film till the time they left the theatres, it was just about that. Pick any film of mine, there hasn’t been a car sequence that has surpassed two minutes, maximum five,” he says.

‘Golmaal Again’ has highest usage of CGI, as compared to any of Rohit’s previous film. The makers, while they opted to go the Disney way in terms of visuals, have tried to give it a comic book effect.

Starring Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi and Parineeti Chopra among others, the film is set to release later this year.
