There were reports that Rohit Shetty will be teaming up with Ranveer Singh for a movie. And this was only confirmed recently when the director himself stated to a leading magazine that there’s nothing to hide about it.
“Yes, I’m making a film with Ranveer Singh. Now how much to hide it. It’s an action film and we will start mid next year when Ranveer will be done with ‘Padmavati’ and Zoya’s (Akhtar) film, ‘Gully Boy’,” he had said.
Well now, according to a leading daily, Rohit and Ranveer’s film will be a remake of 2015 release Telugu flick ‘Temper’ which starred Junior NTR and Kajal Aggarwal. Reportedly, only Ranveer has been roped in for the film, and the leading lady is yet to be finalised. We wonder if Rohit will rope in Kajal Aggarwal for the Hindi remake as he has earlier worked with the actress in ‘Singham’.
‘Temper’ was about a corrupt cop who joins hands with an influential smuggler. But then it is the cop’s girlfriend who brings the transformation in him.
If these reports turn out to be true, this will be for the first time when we will get to see Ranveer Singh as a cop on the big screen. He would be the first one from the young generation of actors to play a cop in a film as his contemporaries like Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra and Arjun Kapoor are yet to don a khakhee in a film. Currently, Ranveer is busy with the shooting of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’ which is slated to hit the screens on November 17, 2017. In the movie, Ranveer will be seen playing the role of Sultan Alauddin Khilji. It also stars Deepika Padukone who will be seen as Rani Padmavati and Shahid Kapoor who will portray the role of Raja Rawal Ratan Singh.
Meanwhile, Rohit is currently busy with the last schedule of his directorial ‘Golmaal Again’ which will be hitting the screens during Diwali this year.
‘Eat Sleep Bollywood Repeat’ is his life Mantra. Dance is his first love and Rani Mukerji is his eternal crush. He is someone who loves being himself, and as for the ones who don’t agree, his reply? “Talk to my hand!”
