Romantic number for Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in ‘Padmavati’?

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’ has been in the news right from the onset. Now, the look of the star cast comprising of actors Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor is being guarded on the sets as SLB doesn’t want their look to be leaked. Deepika will essay the titular role of Rani Padmavati, Shahid Kapoor will play the role of her husband Raja Rawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh will play the role of Allaudin Khilji.

According to the epic poem Padmavati which was penned by Malik Muhammad Jayasi in language of Awadhi, Allaudin was deeply in love with Padmavati and waged a war with Raja Ratan Singh. And when the Queen realised that her husband is about to lose, she conducted ‘johar’ (an old act where married women used to sacrifice themselves in pyre and kill themselves). But, SLB will showcase a different vision in his film.

A source close to an entertainment portal said, “Since the real life couple is the big draw of the film, Bhansali has found a way of bringing Deepika and Ranveer together in a romantic song. It will be a lavishly shot dream sequence which Khilji has, while thinking about ‘Padmavati’ and won’t mess with history.” Bhansali is going to take complete liberty in narrating this historical drama and as quoted by the source, we may get to see a romantic number between Allaudin Khilji and Rani Padmavati in the movie. Remember how ‘Bajirao Mastani’ too was changed as per his own vision and it turned out to be the biggest hit of the year. So we are hoping this one too hits the jackpot.
