‘Rowdy Rathore 2’: Akshay Kumar’s action film gets a sequel after 7 years

Joining the club of movie remakes in Bollywood, the makers have announced the sequel of cop drama ‘Rowdy Rathore’. After seven years of its Hindi remake of the south film ‘Vikramarkudu’, the action film is all set to get a Hindi sequel starring Akshay as the main lead. However, there is no confirmation about Sonakshi Sinha also starring in the film.

Producer Shabinaa Khan confirmed the news of teaming up with Akshay Kumar for the sequel of ‘Rowdy Rathore’. In a recent interview with Mumbai Mirror, Shabinaa (who is gearing up to co-produce the film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali) revealed that they are working on the script of ‘Rowdy Rathore 2’. While talking about the same, the producer said, “We are in the process of writing ‘Rowdy Rathore 2’ right now and it will feature Akshay in the lead.“

‘Rowdy Rathore’ featured Akshay Kumar in a double role as a thief and a police. It was directed by Prabhudeva. While much has not been revealed about the plot of the sequel and the lead actress, the film seems to be intriguing the interest of the audience.

On the work front, Akshay Kumar is currently shooting for Rohit Shetty’s film ‘Sooryavanshi’. The Khiladi Kumar will be seen performing deadly action stunts and the film also stars Katrina Kaif in a pivotal role.
