RR Patil says no proposal to pardon Sanjay Dutt

Actor Sanjay Dutt is being considered to be pardoned by the Government of Maharashtra along with two other, were the rumours making rounds ever since the actor has come out on furlough. Today RR Patil Maharashtra’s Home Minister asserted that it is not so, as they have not received any communication from the Central Government on this particular issue of granting remission.

As per sources, this response was made in answer to Vinod Tawade of BJP, who was very much against the actor being pardoned. Patil reasserted that the actors family members including sister and Congress MP from Mumbai Priya Dutt, have not made any such request.

Sanjay Dutt was sentenced to jail for illegal possession of firearms during Mumbai Bomb Blasts in 1993. At present he is serving term at the Yerawada jail in Pune.
