RRR bags Golden Globe Awards nominations, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt and others celebrate

SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR featuring Ram Charan and Jr NTR is on a roll. Post bagging two prestigious international awards the movie has been nominated 80th Golden Globe Awards in two categories. The movie is nominated under the Best Foreign Film category and the Best Original Song category. Earlier it was honoured with the Spotlight Award at Hollywood Critics Association.

Soon after the Twitter handle of Golden globe shared the good news that SS Rajamouli too shared the same and wrote, “Thanks to the jury at @goldenglobes for nominating #RRRMovie in two categories. Congratulations to the entire team… Thanks to all the fans and audience for your unconditional love and support throughout.”

Celebs like Alia Bhatt, Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Prabhas, Karan Johar and more celebrated the nominations. Alia Bhatt, who played a pivotal role in RRR, shared a screenshot of the announcement on her Instagram Stories along with several heart emoticons

Ram Charan too shared the tweet and wished Rajamouli. He wrote, “CONGRATULATIONS !!! @ssrajamouli Garu ??on winning the prestigious New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Director! Well deserved.. Thank you for taking Indian Cinema to Global level..”

Jr NTR, who played the lead alongside Ram Charan in RRR, also tweeted, “Delighted that #RRRMovie has been nominated in two categories at the Golden Globe Awards! Congratulations to all of us… Looking forward.”

RRR follows a pre-Independence fictional story set in the 1920s that revolves around two real-life Indian revolutionaries: Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Jr NTR). It also stars Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn in pivotal roles. Released theatrically in March, the movie raised over Rs 1,200 crore at the global box office. The Hindi version of the film premiered on Netflix and soon became the most popular movie from India on the streamer globally.
