Rs. 15 crore worth defamation case filed against Sussanne Khan

A defamation case worth Rs. 15 crore has been filed against Hrithik Roshan’s ex-wife Sussanne Khan on Thursday by Mudith Gupta, Managing Partner of Emgee Properties (A real estate firm) for allegedly making defamatory statements against him.

Ranjith Shetty, Mudith Gupta’s lawyer was quoted saying that his client has filed the suit against Sussanne before Senior Civil Divison Court in Goa, the hearing for which will take place on July 20. Emjee Properties had earlier too filed a complaint at Panaji police station against the star wife for an alleged fraud of Rs. 1.87 crore. She was booked under section 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) of IPC. The real estate firm alleged that Sussanne had represented herself as an architect and designer but failed to execute the project in Goa, and cheated the firm for around Rs. 1.87 crore, which was paid between September 21, 2013 to February 20, 2015.

But Sussanne went ahead to challenge the FIR before Goa Bench of the Bombay High Court.

Mudith Gupta has now filed the defamation case against her. His lawyer informed a news agency, “Khan has issued statements through media that Gupta is trying to bully her. He is trying to pressurise her being a single mother. She has also said that the firm wanted to take some cheap architect.”

He added, “Such statements have forced us to file a defamation suit against her to the tune of Rs. 15 crore before Senior Civil Court in Panaji.”
