Rudra: Ajay Devgn announces OTT debut; creates a storm with his impressive first look

Superstar Ajay Devgn is coming into the digital space with his first-ever crime-drama series Rudra-The Edge of Darkness on Disney+ Hotstar VIP. A remake of the Idris Elba starrer successful British series Luther, The Hotstar Specials series is billed as an engaging and dark new take on cop stories by the makers. It will soon begin production and will be shot across iconic locales of Mumbai. In the show, Ajay will be seen in an intense and gritty new cop avatar.

“Rudra – The Edge of Darkness is a compelling and highly intriguing story and I can’t wait to begin this new journey! Playing a cop on screen is not new to me, but this time the character is more intense, complex and dark. What drew me most to his persona, is that he is possibly the greyest character you may come across in recent times,” Devgn said in a statement.

Ajay took his social media handles and shared a poster of his new show. He wrote, “Happy to announce the crime thriller of the year Hotstar Specials ‘Rudra – The Edge Of Darkness’. Reportedly, Rajesh Mapuskar, who is known for the slice of life, Ferrari Ki Sawaari and the Marathi film, Ventilator, will be directing Ajay Devgn’s debut OTT show. The shooting timeline is kept under wraps for now. On the film front, Ajay will be next seen in Bhuj: The Pride of India. Meanwhile, he is shooting for his cameo in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi with Alia Bhatt. Apart from this, he will also be seen in RRR with Jr NTR and Ram Charan.
