Veteran actor Dilip Kumar, who was rushed to Mumbai’s Lilavati hospital a couple of days back, is still at the hospital and is under treatment and acute observation. Reportedly, he has been diagnosed with kidney complications and is being treated with high-dose antibiotics.
From this morning, rumours were rife that his condition has worsened and he has been moved to ventilator. Considering that ventilation is almost last stage of one’s medical treatment, fans got really worried. A number of publications even quoted Pulmonologist Dr Jalil Parkar stating, “His kidney functions have not improved. On the contrary, it has worsened. He is on the ventilator. We will be able to give a proper briefing in the morning.” (Also Read: The day Shah Rukh Khan took over the legacy of Dilip Kumar, and ‘Devdas’ re-emerged)
However, looks like that is just a rumour. Shaheen Ahmed, the actor’s niece, took to Twitter and wrote, “Yusuf uncle right now in Leelavati. Please do not believe people who are seeking publicity via a vis wrong information.” [sic]
While we pray for his speedy recovery, his wife Saira Banu has been asking for the same. “We have to pray he recovers soon. He should be well Inshallah! God willing. The doctors are treating him,” she told a news agency this morning. (Also read: While Dilip Kumar’s condition worsens, wife Saira Banu hopes for his recovery)
The legendary actor has been a part of many cult films and is also a recipient of the Padma Bhushan and the Dadasaheb Phalke Awards in 1991 and 1994 respectively.
We wish he comes home healthy and hearty soon!
