Saif Ali Khan is on the mend after being stabbed by a burglar at his Bandra residence. Hospital officials have confirmed that he will soon be transferred from the ICU to a regular ward, commending his bravery in arriving at the hospital with his young son, Taimur. The Bollywood star suffered serious injuries but is expected to be discharged shortly. Dr. Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, confirmed the transfer from the ICU and noted that Saif was accompanied by his son.

In a conversation with Times, Dr. Uttamani stated, “We plan to move him from the ICU to a regular room. He is improving. It was quite courageous of him to walk in with his seven-year-old child, Taimur, despite his significant injuries. He simply walked in; it’s a remarkable show of bravery.” He further updated on the actor’s condition, saying, “He is doing well; I saw him earlier this morning. We anticipate he will be discharged in a day or two, pending tomorrow’s examination. His entire family is here with him now.”

The incident has left fans and the film industry in shock, as Saif Ali Khan was attacked by an unknown burglar in the early hours of the morning. The attack has raised concerns about the safety of public figures. Known for his versatile performances in Indian cinema, Saif sustained six stab wounds in the attack, two of which were deep and alarmingly close to his spine. He was swiftly taken to Lilavati Hospital, with some reports stating that he was accompanied by his older son, Ibrahim, instead of Taimur.

The shocking incident occurred early Thursday morning when Saif Ali Khan was repeatedly stabbed with a knife inside his 12th-floor apartment in the upscale Bandra area by an attacker. This attack raises significant concerns regarding security, motive, and the challenges of celebrity life.

At 54 years old, Saif was reported to be out of danger. This confirmation was after he underwent emergency surgery at Lilavati Hospital. He was rushed after the incident took place around 2:30 AM. His son, Ibrahim, quickly transported him to the hospital by auto, arriving around 3 AM. Saif’s wife, Kareena Kapoor, and sister-in-law, Karisma Kapoor, reached the hospital shortly after.

Legal Action

The actor’s representatives characterized the incident as an attempted burglary. A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed at the Bandra police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including 311 (robbery with intent to cause death or grievous hurt) and 331(4) (house break-in or trespass at night). Kareena and other family members were present in the house during the attack. The Mumbai police have released a picture of the intruder as part of their investigation.
