Saif Ali Khan recently opened up about his ex-wife Amrita Singh and her role in his career. The two got separated in 2004 after a bitter divorce but things got better over time. Saif recently gave credit to his ex-wife who taught him the seriousness of his career.
In an interview with Mid-Day, Saif was recalling his time when he started out in Bollywood, he said how Amrita advised him to take things seriously and actually do something in his career, “I also ran away from home, and got married at 20. And I’ve to give Amrita [Singh], my ex-wife, credit for being the only person who taught me to take it all seriously. She said you can’t hit the target while laughing at it.” He said it was that that ‘Parampara’ happened.
Later, when Dil Chahta Hai happened, that Saif initially didn’t want to do. He said how Amrita was the one who told him that he should believe in himself when he was confused how to tackle the charcater of Sameer. Saif said he would ask everyone how to play the role. Amrita asked him why is he even asking others how to play the role. He should do his own thing.

Saif and Amrita tied the knot in 1991 and they had two lovely kid’s Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Khan. But, unfortunately, their marriage lasted for 13 years.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Saif was last seen in ‘Laal Kaptaan’ and he has also wrapped up ‘Jawaani Jaaneman’ in London with newbie Alaia F and Tabu. Next, he will also be seen in ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ in which he will co-star Ajay Devgn and Kajol. The movie will hit the theatres on January 10.
