kaalakaandi movie

Today, at the trailer launch of ‘Chef’, Saif Ali Khan was asked various questions about his upcoming projects, his family and more. So, the actor spoke about his upcoming movie ‘Kaalakaandi’ which was to release on September 8, but got delayed.

When asked about the delay, the actor said, “I think there were a lot of cuts in the film. There is a government body called FCAT. So, a lot of films go there and come out with no cuts or three cuts. It’s a magical place apparently. Hopefully, it gets a few cuts, it’s a beautiful film. The teaser is out and the trailer, I think will come out after we know what the final cut is.”

Earlier, the movie was ordered around 73 cuts by the CBFC due to the use of expletives. A member of the CBFC had said, “Kaalakaandi makes ‘Delhi Belly’ look like a Disney film. When Delhi Belly was released there were waves of shock and disbelief among the public at the torrent of profanities. But ‘Kaalakaandi’ sets an all-new benchmark of expletives. We at the CBFC heard gaalis (expletives) that we had never heard of and never imagined existed. The film is a dictionary of dirty abuses. I am sure it will prove highly educational if the cuts are restored.”
