Authorities suspect that a domestic help employed at Saif Ali Khan’s Bandra residence may have allowed an intruder to enter the home. Following the attack, Khan sustained six stab wounds and has been hospitalized. According to police reports, the individual who attacked Saif is known to one of the domestic staff members, and she is currently being questioned for further details.
Saif Ali Khan’s domestic help is suspected of allowing intruder
The attack occurred early Thursday morning, leading to Saif being hospitalized. An officer from the investigation team indicated that the intruder was permitted entry by the domestic help, but it remains unclear what transpired afterwards that resulted in the alarm being raised and Saif being attacked.
“We suspect the help must have allowed him entry, and for some reason, a fight took place. She is being interrogated by the local police to gather more information about the accused. Seven local police teams are actively working to track him down,” the officer stated.
In addition to the local police investigation, teams from the Mumbai Crime Branch are conducting a parallel inquiry into the incident. The police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area to locate the suspect. “We have some leads and we should be able to nab him soon,” the officer added.
What happened?
At the hospital, Saif is being treated for six injuries, two of which are deeper. Dr. Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, noted, “One of the injuries is closer to his spine.” The doctor also mentioned an injury on the neck that is under evaluation. Saif is being operated on by Neurosurgeon Nitin Dange, cosmetic surgeon Leena Jain, and anaesthetist Nisha Gandhi. The surgery commenced at 5:30 am.
A doctor at Lilavati Hospital, who requested anonymity, revealed that they found a piece of the knife in Saif’s body. And they are still assessing the damage. However, the fact that he can move his limbs indicates that his spine is intact.
