Saif Ali Khan on paternity break: Who wants to work when you have a newborn at home?

Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan are all set to welcome their second child soon. In fact, Kareena will deliver her baby next week. Kareena’s father, Randhir Kapoor told Bollywood Bubble that Kareena is due on February 15. Saif has taken a paternity break and will resume shoot for Adipurush after that.

In an interview with Elle Magazine, Saif opened up about the paternity leave he had taken ever since the birth of his first child, Sara Ali Khan. He also said that he is in ‘privileged position’ that he can take time off from work.

Saif said, “Who wants to work when you have a newborn at home! If you don’t see your children growing up, you’re making a mistake. And I can take time off from work—it’s a privileged position. Rather than follow a 9-to-5 routine, I live like an actor. Your dharma and approach to everything are based on your career”. Kareena shared the cover of the magazine, featuring Saif, on Instagram. “The coolest husband ever,” she wrote.

Kareena announced her pregnancy in 2020. The couple released a joint statement in August last year. “We are very pleased to announce that we are expecting an addition to our family. Thank you to all our well-wishers for all their love and support,” read the statement.

Saif has two children-Sara and Ibrahim from his first marriage to ex-wife Amrita Singh. He and Kareena welcomed their first child, Taimur in 2016.

On the work front, Saif will be seen in Adipurush that also has Prabhas.
