What! Saif Ali Khan had planned to change baby Taimur’s name after the backlash

As much as we were happy on the birth of Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan’s son, Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi, people were highly disappointed with the name the couple chose for the little one. Comparing Taimur to Timur, a violent emperor from the history, people bashed Saif-Kareena for choosing such a name for their son.

Social media was abuzz with the negative comments and critics had their own opinion to share. The commotion over his name was so much that Saif actually thought of changing his son’s name to something else.

Yes. In his recent interview, Saif revealed that for once he would change the name of Taimur and get over with all the hullabaloo. Kareena was completely against of this thought, but at that time, it was the only solution, Saif could come up with.

In his quote, Saif has said, “I thought for a second about changing his name. For a couple of weeks. And Kareena was a little against it and she said, ‘People respect you for your opinion and you can’t’… So I said, yeah, but it’s not about people. I don’t want him to get unpopular.”

He further adds, “Someone in my PR agreed with me, and we drafted a small letter. And when I read it, it was so pathetic, that I cancelled the idea. Because it was really like, uhh, ‘I’m sorry’, and ‘I didn’t want to offend’ and ‘I’m an idiot’.”
