Filmmaker Pradeep Sarkar passed away on March 24, 2023. His untimely demise left fans and friends in shock. Today the filmmaker’s family has organised a prayer meeting to pay their respect to Sarkar. It was attended by Saif Ali Khan, CBFC Chief Prasoon Joshi, and Barkha Singh. Actress Drashti Dhami, lyricist Swanand Kirkire and others arrived to pay their last respect.

The Vikram Vedha actor had worked with Pradeep Sarkar in Parineeta. He arrived to pay his last respect to the filmmaker. Saif dressed in a white kurta-pyjama was seen hugging a family member on his arrival there.

Actress Barkha Singh and Shoojit Sircar also arrived to express grief at Pradeep Sarkar’s prayer meet.
Pradeep Sarkar was reportedly on dialysis, and his potassium levels had dropped drastically. He died in a hospital where he was rushed to at 3 am. The filmmaker’s last rites were performed at Santacruz’s crematorium. It was attended by Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, and many more.
Pradeep Sarkar made his directorial debut with the Vidya Balan starrer ‘Parineeta’ in 2005. He has also directed Rani Mukerji starrer ‘Mardaani’, ‘Laga Chunari Mein Daag’, ‘Helicopter Eela’, ‘Lafangey Parindey’, and more. Sarkar has also directed web series like ‘Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala’, ‘Arranged Marriage And Forbidden Love’.
May his soul rest in peace!
