The charm, innocence and charisma on Saif Ali Khan’s face is as prominent and effective as it used to be in the ’90s when he was just in his 20s. Sometimes it seems unfathomable that the actor has completed almost close to three decades in showbiz as the appeal of his cuteness is still the same. It’s just the sincerity and intensity on it that has also increased with time. Over these years, Saif Ali Khan has given the audience several reasons to love him through his distinctive, versatile and effective portrayals on screen, and now even his daughter Sara Ali Khan is continuing that legacy of his that he also inherited from his mother, Sharmila Tagore.

Recently, the actor got into a conversation with Hindustan Times where he opened up about how he has managed to stay relevant in the Hindi film industry even after being here for close to 30 years. He said, ““In a nutshell, it would be a contemporary way of approach, I suppose. I’m not particularly hung up on the past or rigid about the way I think and feel about many things. Maybe it’s also the people around me – my family and friends.”
But no conversation could be complete without asking the dashing actor the reason behind his such good looks even at the age of 51 and he had an answer ready for that as well. He quipped, “I have my mum’s young genes so it’s a cross between that and a healthy outlook on life. It starts with the thinking and then you are lucky that people treat you as relevant.”

Throughout these years, Saif has done some tremendous work spanning across genres. Be it the fun loving urban guy in films like Dil Chahta Hai, Salaam Namaste or Jawaani Jaaneman or the intense and experimental roles in films like Omkara, Laal Kaptaan, Kaalakandi or Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, the actor has never shied away from exploring his craft. Even today, he has some diverse work in the pipeline with projects like Adipurush and Vikram Vedha. Talking about his appeal to the audience the actor stated, “It’s not something I have thought about – maybe that helps as well – just to do it, rather than think it. I treat what I do with a lot of excitement and newness. I’m excited to be in the job and I love doing it. And I’m more excited about tomorrow than ever! I think that helps. Somewhere, you have got to be excited about what you’re doing.”
