EXCLUSIVE: Saif Ali Khan joins Amitabh and Jacqueline in Anees Bazmee’s ‘Aankhen 2’

‘Aankhen 2’ was announced over three and half years ago with Anil Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Ileana D’cruz and Regina Cassandra. But the film went nowhere. Producer Gaurang Doshi was even ousted from the whole proceedings after criminal cases were lodged against him. Now, there’s a fresh start and Anees Bazmee has decided to go ahead and make the second part.

He needs five principal characters for the film, much like the first part. One would be Amitabh Bachchan who was the prima facie in the original too. Joining him will be Paresh Rawal who’s the only other actor who has been retained from the 2003 thriller. Replacing Sushmita Sen in the second instalment is our ravishing Jacqueline Fernandez and news of that is already out in the media.

Apart from them, two other male leads need to be locked and Anees has found one of them already. A source confirmed to Bollywood Bubble, “Saif Ali Khan has been cast for the movie. He will play the main protagonist who goes against Big B, who plays the nemesis here again. There will be several twists and turns in the whole plot this time and another young hero is being spoken to for the other role.”

Filming is expected to begin towards the end of this year. But Saif, we must admit, is on a roll. He has ‘Hunter’, ‘Jawaani Jaaneman’ and ‘Tanhaji- The Unsung Warrior’ lined up, followed by this.
