Saif Ali Khan was offered Jaane Jaan a decade before Kareena Kapoor, Sujoy Ghosh reveals

Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vijay Varma, and Jaideep Ahlawat starrer Jaane Jaan is one of the most talked-about films right now. The makers treated fans with the trailer of Jaane Jaan on Tuesday. At the trailer launch event of the film, director Sujoy Ghosh made an interesting revelation. Much to our surprise, Sujoy revealed he had offered the film to Saif Ali Khan ten years ago. Yes, Saif Ali Khan was approached for the film a decade before wife Kareena Kapoor.

At the event, Sujoy shared, “Saif has a history with the film. And like a true husband, he shifted all the responsibility to his wife.”

Adding to that, Kareena said, “That was almost 10 years ago.” Bebo then revealed that Saif is very excited about the film. “He’s really excited because it’s all of us together and I think he is eagerly awaiting to watch the film and he has seen the promo at-leaser 3-4 times. And I think everyone has completely killed it.”

Time and again, Kareena has mentioned that Saif is beyond excited about the upcoming suspense-thriller. Also, for the unversed, in 2015, Sujoy had announced a film with Saif Ali Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead roles. However, things didn’t go as planned back then. It turns out, Sujoy had offered him Jaane Jaan.

Kareena will be seen playing a never-seen-before avatar in the Sujoy Ghosh directorial. Fans are excited to see her opposite Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat. Jaane Jaan will mark Kareena’s OTT debut as the film releases on Netflix. For the uninitiated, Jaane Jaan is slated to release on Bebo’s birthday i.e. 21^st September.

Post Jaane Jaan, Kareena will be seen in The Crew. The actress will be sharing screen space with Tabu and Kriti Sanon in the same. That’s not all, Kareena also has Hansal Mehta’s The Buckingham Muders.

On the other hand, Saif will be seen in Devara, co-starring Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor. The makers earlier revealed his first look from Devara leaving fans excited for the upcoming film.
