Actress Shraddha Kapoor had been signed for the Saina Nehwal biopic. The ‘Baaghi’ star had even started shooting for the film last year in September after undergoing training. But, the actress was soon laid down with dengue and was advised bed rest by the doctors. Shraddha, who was to resume the shoot of the movie in April this year, has reportedly walked out of the Amole Gupte-directorial and Parineeti Chopra has stepped in.
As reported by a source to Mumbai Mirror, Shraddha has been replaced due to her tight schedule. The 32-year-old actress is currently working on her films ‘Chhichhore’ and ‘Street Dancer’.
Confirming the news, Producer Bhushan Kumar told Mumbai Mirror, “We want to wrap up Saina by this year-end for an early 2020 release, so going ahead with the project is a decision taken by mutual consent. We are glad Parineeti has come on board for the film. Saina has made every Indian proud and we can’t wait to take her story to the world in the year of the Olympics.”
Shraddha Kapoor will soon be seen in action dhamaka ‘Saaho‘ that has ‘Baahubali’ star Prabhas in the leading role. The movie is all set to hit the theatres in August. She will also be seen sharing the screen space with Tiger Shroff in ‘Baaghi 3’.
Parineeti too is currently gearing up for the release of her next film ‘Kesari’. The period war drama features Akshay Kumar in the lead role. Apart from this, she will also be starring in ‘Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar’ alongside Arjun Kapoor and in ‘Jabariya Jodi’ with Sidharth Malhotra.
