October 21, marks the birth anniversary of his son, Shammi Kapoor. While the late actor gave multiple iconic films, his 1960 release Junglee was his breakthrough performance. As Saturday marks his 92nd birth anniversary, his Junglee co-star Saira Banu penned a heartfelt note remembering him.

Saira Banu took to her Instagram stories to share a throwback picture of her and Shammi ji from Junglee. The aesthetic picture just showcases their sparkling chemistry brilliantly. Along with it, the veteran actress penned a note for her ‘dashing’ Junglee co-star.
Saira ji remembered her journey with Shammi ji and the relationship she and husband Dilip Kumar shared with the Kapoor family. She wrote, “Our journey commenced with “Junglee” back in 1961, and the memories of that time hold a special place in my heart. The Kapoor family has always been close to Dilip Sahib and me. Shammi Kapoor’s vivacity and vibrancy had the unique ability to infuse life into any gathering. His zest for life was inspiring enough to brighten up the lives and those fortunate enough to know him. His craft, artistry, and legacy will be etched in all our hearts forever.”
The veteran actress promised to share some interesting anecdotes in the coming days about Shammi ji. She is planning a special segment for her ‘Junglee’.

The pairing of Saira ji and Shammi ji was loved and adored by the audiences. Post Junglee, they went on to appear in a few more films together. They did the 1963 release Bluff Master, Jwaar Bhata in 1973 and the 1975 film Zameer. Surely, there will be some interesting stories unveiled by Saira ji in her new segment about Shammi ji.
